About Communication

From this podcasting project, I hope to learn more about how well I can gauge my audience's reaction to an idea I am trying to present. In shooting a movie, the goal is to create a storyline, and then present it to the audience in a clear, concise, and enjoyable way. However, we cannot directly show them the idea, in that we can't simply give every viewer the script, so the most difficult part about this project is how it is presented. Our goal is to be humorous and enjoyable in order to capture the audience's attention, but we also want to leave a lasting impression of what we were trying to tell them through our narrative. Although we would love to entertain, that is not the primary goal.

Communication to me, is about using a medium in which to convey a specific idea. Presenting any kind of idea requires a method of doing so, which could be through written or spoken language, a visual representation, etc. Personally, I believe that the most important goal of communication is to simply present something in the most clear manner possible. However, beyond that, there are different styles in which one can communicate, based on preference or personality, and differences in presentation can emphasize different aspects of an idea. I think the most important part of communication is to be able to present a thought, but it is also important to do so in a personalized way.

I definitely agree with you that there are a variety of ways to communicate to the audience. I also agree that the primary goal should be to communicate in a manner that is as clear as possible for everyone. Do you already have ideas in mind as to how you will go about making your podcast both clear and entertaining?
